A new teaser trailer has been released for I know what you did last summer, a new adaptation of the TV series from Lois Duncan’s novel from 1973. The series of eight episodes, previously adapted into a 1997 franchise thriller, will be released on Amazon Prime Video in October. A month before the premiere, Amazon dropped the first trailer for the upcoming horror series, and you can check it out below.
The new I know what you did last summer contains a plot similar to the previous versions, but told in a brand new way with a different cast. It was specifically described as a ‘modern look’ at the story. It plays Madison Iseman (Annabelle Come home, Jumanji: the next level), Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom and Bill Heck.
Sara Goodman (Preacher) developed the small screen display. Goodman also co-produced with Shay Hatten, the original film Neal Moritz and Pavun Shetty, Erik Feig, and Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Rob Hackett, and Michael Clear. Craig Macneill, who directed the first episode, is also executive producer.
“There will be blood,” Goodman said earlier this year [email protected] panel. ‘I also laid small Easter eggs for the stubborn fans during the season. [But] you absolutely do not have to watch the movie or anything else to be a fan of the program. We have eight episodes to explore these characters, who not only run away from a stalker, they also have relationships and problems with their families, and they are dealing with their fucking lives. There is more than just the mystery of who is behind them. It’s a mystery about who they really are. “
Written and executive produced by Sara Goodman, I know what you did last summer is based on Lois Duncan’s novel from 1973, which was also the basis of the iconic film from 1997. A year after the fatal car accident that followed their graduation, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and chased by a cruel killer. As they try to work together who’s behind them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect city — and themselves. Everyone hides something, and discovering the wrong secret can be deadly.
Shout author Kevin Williamson directed the film adaptation of I know what you did last summer, who also performed names such as Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillipe. It was a huge hit at the box office, creating a horror film franchise with several sequels. I still know what you did last summer was released in 1998, followed by I will always know what you did last summer in 2006.
I know what you did last summer will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video on October 15th. The new trailer comes to us from Amazon.
