A new behind-the-scenes video for the prequel The Many Saints of Newark features the actors praising the original film of The Sopranos.
The cast of The Many Saints of Newark praise the actors who played the lead role The Sopranos in a new video. The upcoming prequel film takes place in the 1960s and 70s, focusing on the 1967 riots from Newark. The movie gives the public a chance to watch many of their favorite characters again The Sopranos for the first time since the series ended in 2007. The young Tony Soprano will be aptly played by Michael Gandolfini, the son of the late James Gandolfini, who played the role. Other returning characters include Giovanni “Johnny Boy” Soprano (Jon Bernthal), Livia Soprano (Vera Farmiga) and Silvio Dante (John Magaro).
The Many Saints of Newark also features a well-known creative team. It was compiled by David Chase, who created The Sopranos, with Lawrence Konner, who wrote about the series. Alan Taylor directed the film after helping several episodes of the program throughout his career. The Many Saints of Newark will be released in theaters on October 1 and will also be available on HBO Max for the first month. Critics who have seen the film seem to approve so far, as it has received largely positive reviews.
